Conferences

the following has been blessed by his grace bishop john
Welcome to the webpage of the 2026 Conference of the Western Rite Vicariate of the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, hosted by the three Western Rite parishes of the Denver area: St Augustine, St Columba, and St Mark, together with the Monastery of Our Lady and St Lawrence. The theme of the Conference is Sacred Art and Sacred Space, and we have an impressive array of speakers lined up to talk about iconography in theory and practice, rood screens, Orthodox architecture in general, and the architecture of early Christian Jerusalem in particular. But, as well as intellectual nourishment, we hope also to feed your souls through a rich variety of services, drawn from both the Roman and English traditions, including not only the daily offices of Lauds and Vespers, but also a sung requiem, a solemn high mass, and a low mass in Latin, as well as the office of terce (the third hour). And if all this sounds heavy and serious, it is! But there will be plenty of time, too, for friendship and fellowship, food and fun! Our aim is that 'the man' - and woman - 'of God may be complete in every way' - intellectually, spiritually, and socially.
